'IN THE SPIRIT OF AGNES': 'Our congratulations to Colleen Purdon on being awarded the YMCA's 2015 Peace Medallion for her long service in the cause of social justice in Bruce Grey Owen Sound. Politically, Colleen has been the NDP candidate [not sure in how many elections] and was elected to Owen Sound's City Council in 2011. She has served as Executive Director of the Women's Centre of Grey Bruce, worked to make Owen Sound an inclusive community (including First Nations peoples) and she is one of the founding members of the non-partisan citizens' group, Peace & Justice Grey Bruce. BGOS NDP congratulates Colleen on this recognition of all her work done in the spirit of Agnes Macphail. | |
